Michigan man who murdered wife by putting heroin in cereal sentenced to life without parole

A Davison man who was convicted of killing his wife by putting heroin in her cereal has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Jason Harris, 47, of Davison, was found guilty on Nov. 17 of first-degree premeditated murder, solicitation of murder and delivery of a controlled substance causing death.

Christina Ann Thompson Harris, 36, died in September 2014. Officials said Harris prepared a bowl of cereal for his wife and laced it with a lethal dose of heroin. Her sisters never stopped fighting for justice.

Kerry Woolley: Solihull boyfriend guilty of 'revenge on women' murder

A man who stabbed his new girlfriend more than 50 times has been convicted of her murder and his mother found guilty of helping him cover it up.

Ian Bennett, 38, of Moordown Avenue, Solihull, faced a 16-day trial at Birmingham Crown Court over the death of Kerry Woolley.

His mother, Lynda Bennett, 63, of the same address, was convicted of assisting an offender and perverting the course of justice.

Massachusetts cold-case murder solved by DNA found on conch shell

While reviewing dozens of cases in 2019, the cold case unit noticed that the conch, according to autopsy photos, had likely made contact with Moniz’s face and her killer would have had to place his fingers inside the shell to “strike the victim with extreme force.”

Authorities tested that area and got the full DNA profile, which belonged to Reed. DNA from Reed’s family was also found, using samples from under Moniz’s fingernails.
