Florida Man Kills Relative and Himself Over Vacation Home

Police investigation of a murder-suicide on Sunday revealed that the family dispute had arisen over a Boca Raton vacation home, which was previously owned by a woman now occupying an assisted living facility.

NBC 6 reports that as family members began to arrive for their vacation, an uninvited male relative intruded with a gun. He killed the first woman to arrive, and when two other relatives later tried to get into the locked house, the gunman attempted to lure them in by texting from the first victim’s phone. He managed to shoot the woman in the head, but she and the man accompanying her successfully fled to a neighbor for help, says NBC 6.

According to USA Today, investigators found the first woman and the gunman dead in the house after his apparent suicide.

The second woman is currently hospitalized for her head injury. Citing Florida law, the victims’ and the gunman’s names have been withheld for privacy concerns, says USA Today.
