Danielle Redlick Acquitted of Murder of Her Stepdad-Turned-Husband
Danielle Redlick, a woman on trial for the murder of her step-father-turned-husband, was acquitted last Friday of the crime due to the history of abuse in the relationship and other complicating factors.
Danielle (48) and her partner Michael (65) first met one another when Michael dated and later married her mother Kathleen until she died from breast cancer in 1999. The pair were married for 17 years and had two children, but according to Fox News, after Michael cheated on her with numerous other women, their relationship took a turn for the worst.
The fight on January 11, 2019, began when Michael discovered Danielle talking to other men and became extremely jealous and angry. From Danielle’s testimony, from there he came at her physically, attempting to choke her and getting her on the ground. According to the Daily Mail, in an attempt to protect herself, Danielle took a kitchen knife and stabbed Michael in the torso, cutting his basilic vein and causing him to bleed out. She then waited eleven hours to call 911, looking through dating apps during that time.
Despite being ruled not guilty for the death of her husband, it is ruled as self-defense, she was found guilty of evidence tampering as she attempted to clean up the scene, along with being found suspicious from consistently changing her story throughout the investigation.
