Woman Faces Charges for Shooting Deaths of Husband and Son

On Wednesday, police responded to a call of two people shot to death in the Navajo reservation town of Kaibeto in Arizona. Both had died from gunshot wounds. Lydia Carol King, the wife and mother of the victims, now faces federal charges.

King arrived at Flagstaff Hospital on Thursday morning, claiming she shot her husband in self-defense. King also fatally shot her six-year-old son and she shot at several people as she drove away from her home in Kaibeto. She also shot at people in the town of Red Lake, Arizona, according to Fox News. King is scheduled for a court hearing on October 24th.

Police authorities have not released any details regarding the crime, though the court hearing will determine King’s mental competency, according to The Titusville Herald.
