Teenager Charged with Homicide After Throwing Chemicals at Father

18-year-old Megan Joyce Imirowicz of Michigan is now facing a murder charge after throwing chemicals at her father last October, leading to his death this earlier this month.

Police say that Imirowicz mixed a concoction of lye powder and drain cleaner and threw it at her father, who suffered chemical burns. She was arrested and charged with one count of assault and one count of domestic violence last fall, but ABC News reports that charge has now been upgraded to homicide since her father has died from his injuries sustained in the attack.

Imirowicz was released on bond last year but was taken back into custody after her father passed away. The motive remains unclear, and Imirowicz is currently being held at the Oakland County Jail.
