Delphine LaLaurie, also known as Madame Lalaurie, was a wealthy New Orleans socialite and slave owner; she first moved into the mansion in 1832 with her third husband Dr. Leonard Louis Nicolas LaLaurie, where she hosted many lavish parties. Upon moving into the house, LaLaurie immediately took control of the large number of slaves that were used as servants and began her sadistic and horrid treatment of the enslaved workers.

Tenn. High School Class President Killed While Returning Home From Basketball Game

According to the NY Times, Christine Michael, 17, was fatally shot on Feb. 10 while driving home from a basketball game with friends. People reports the group of teens had just left a basketball game that evening in Ripley and were traveling toward Brownsville, Tenn. when their vehicle was ambushed. They were struck by multiple rounds of gunfire coming from another vehicle. 

Four N.J. Students Charged in Attack on Girl Who Killed Herself Days Later

NBC News Reports four New Jersey high school students, whose names have not been released, have been charged with the attack on a classmate in the hallway of their school. The attack was filmed and posted on social media. Adriana Kuch, the classmate they assaulted, committed suicide two days later, according to prosecutors. The fourteen-year-old was found dead in her Bayville home on Feb. 3, 2023.
