The Sinister and Satanic Conspiracies Surrounding the Denver International Airport
Since its opening in 1995, it’s been speculated that Denver International Airport is more than just that. Many people believe that the airport is grounds for sinister and satanic happenings due to the eerie murals and giant horse statue that allegedly killed its artist when it was first being built. These murals have made people so uncomfortable that over the years, conspiracy theories surrounding the airport have begun to build up.
1. The Airport Was Built by Secret Societies
One of the biggest theories surrounding the airport is that it was built by a secret society, though the question of which one is uncertain. Many people believe the Freemasons (one of the world’s oldest secular fraternal organizations dating back to the 14th century) the Illuminati, or the New World Order (a cabal of global elites conspiring to overthrow the visiting governments and rule the world), are behind the building of the airport, and that not just one of these societies, but all of them are working together since they’re all similarly linked.
Denver, the city’s tourist page, claims that the evidence supporting this theory is a dedication capstone at the airport’s south entrance March 19, 1994. Allegedly, sealed beneath the stone is a time capsule containing “messages and memorabilia to the people of Colorado in 2094.” The symbol of the Freemasons and the names of two grand lodges and their grandmaster is allegedly depicted on the granite marker. Many people, especially masonic followers, believe that the stone braille tablet above the dedication is a keypad and that if the dots are touched in the correct sequence, the time capsule will open.
2. The Runways of the Airport Form a Hate Symbol
It is claimed that from a sky view, the runways of the airport look very much like a swastika, also known as the Nazi symbol. While most people would like to brush this off, based on the other theories surrounding the airport, it seems as if maybe this wasn’t coincidental.
3. Denver International Is Involved With Biological Warfare
Denver International Airport has two murals which take up a long piece of wallspace near the baggage claim section. While murals are normally beautiful pieces of work to look at, these murals, while titled beautifully, have terrifying content. Mental Floss claims that death masked soldiers with guns stalk children, animals are dead and kept under glass, and the entire world looks to have been destroyed. Some people believe that the murals at the airport feature Doomsday scenes, and an inlay on the floor features the letters “Au” and “Ag,” the symbols for gold and silver; while the symbols don’t seem like a big deal, Colorado has a rich mining history that, and some believe that because of this, the letters could represent a dangerous strain of hepatitis that could serve as a biological weapon, thus also forming the theory that the airport is a hub for biological warfare.
4. The Giant Horse Statue In Front of the Airport Is Cursed
The most famous and controversial feature of Denver International Airport is the giant horse statue named Mustang, but because many believe the horse is cursed, Mustang is most commonly referred to as Blucifer, a reference to the fallen angel Lucifer.
Mustang was commissioned in the mid ‘90s by artist Luis Jimenez, and sadly Mustang ended up being his last piece of work; after working on the statue for nearly a decade, Jimenez was killed in his studio in June of 2006, when a piece of the sculpture fell and severed an artery in his leg. Due to the tragedy that occurred between Jimenez and his own piece of art, many myth makers believe that the horse statue is cursed, even claiming that the statue’s glowing red eyes indicate that he represents one of the steeds that will be ridden by the four horsemen of the apocalypse.
