Transgender U.K. Teen Found Fatally Stabbed in Park

Two British teens were charged Wednesday, Feb. 16 with the murder of a transgender girl, according to People. The teens, both 15, are accused of fatally stabbing Brianna Ghey, 16. 

CNN reports Ghey was found dead in a park in Warrington on Saturday, Feb. 11. Police were contacted just after 3 p.m. and stated Ghey was stabbed multiple times. According to People, investigators are exploring if her death is an anti-transgender hate crime. 

The teens appeared at Chester Magistrates’ Court and were remanded into youth detention. They are due to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Thursday, Feb. 16.
