Parents Charged for Death of Their 3 Year Old Daughter Who Drowned In Lake
On May 12, 2022, 3 year old Ivy Allen, a child with autism, was reported missing in Michigan City, Indiana, crime online reports.
People claims that Andrew Allen, 35, and Brianne Smith, 33– the child’s parents–were charged on Feb.15, 2023, nearly a year after her death with neglect of a dependent resulting in death.
When officers first received the 911 call, they were told that Ivy Allen had wandered away from her home, leading authorities to launch an extensive search. Sadly, the child was found a short distance from her home and unresponsive in Lake Clare.
The investigation lasted 11 months before felony charges were brought to Smith and Allen. The couple is being held in LaPorte County Jail where their bond is set to $100,000 each.
