Men Wanted for Alleged Cocaine Haul After Capsizing Near Australia and Using Cooler as Life Raft
According to BBC, three men were found clinging to an Esky cooler off the western coast of Australia on Feb. 1, where they claim they had been fishing when their boat capsized.
People claims that two out of three men who were rescued are now wanted for their involvement in an alleged cocaine haul.
Days after being rescued, a black plastic wrapped package containing several smaller packages of cocaine washed ashore near Denmark. The boast was found a day later, after the first package of cocaine had been discovered, overturned miles away from the area where police found eight similar packages also containing large amounts of cocaine.
Authorities believe that the trio loaded the drugs onto their boat after it was collected from the water, though authorities aren't sure how and where the drugs were dropped, as the investigation is still ongoing. Australian Federal Police claim that the amount of drugs found suggest that three men planned to use them for nationwide distribution.
One of the suspects, 36, was arrested in the Northern Territory earlier this week, while the other two, 49 and 45, from Western Australia are still being searched for.
