Three Killed, Two Injured in Shooting at Indiana Mall
A shooting at Greenwood Park mall in Indiana kills three people and injures two others around 6 p.m. on Sunday. The gunman was also shot and killed by an armed civilian, claiming four lives in total. The whole incident was reportedly contained to the food court.
The gunman had entered the mall with a rifle and several magazines of ammunition before taking two women and one man’s life. One of the people injured was a 12-year-old girl. She and the other person wounded in the shooting are said to be in stable condition.
Police arrived on the scene sometime after 6:05 p.m. Civilians still in the mall were huddled in the interior hallway, about 40 to 50 people, and were safely escorted out.
A bomb squad was also called to the scene to inspect an unattended back near the food court. It was quickly cleared, finding nothing suspicious.
The motivation for this shooting is still unknown and whether the people shot at were targeted or just random is still under investigation.
