Pennsylvania Woman Allegedly Shoots Two Sons As They Slept

Two Pennsylvania boys are on life support after their mother, Trinh Nguyen, 38, shot them while they slept in their home in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.

After shooting her two children, Nguyen then attempted to shoot her 22-year-old neighbor Gianni Melchiondo outside of her home when he was leaving for work. Nguyen asked Melchiondo to give her ex-husband a box of photos since they worked together. She attempted to shoot him twice, but the gun didn’t fire either time.

Melchiondo was able to wrap Nguyen in a “bear hug” before disarming her. He then quickly called police to the home in the 100 block of Timber Ridge Road.

She then fled to Washington Crossing United Methodist Church where it is believed she sat in her car for over and allegedly attempted to ingest enough narcotics to take her own life, but was apprehended around 11:30 a.m. without incident.

She was taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center “due to the indication she was under the influence” according to District Attorney Weintraub.

The boys, 9-year-old Nelson Tini and 13-year-old Jeffrey “JT” Tini remain on life support and are not expected to survive according to Bucks County District Attorney Matt Weintraub. The boys will remain on life support until their organs can be donated.

Court documents reveal Nguyen was in a rent dispute with her landlord for over $11,000 of unpaid rent. She and her family were ordered to leave their home by Tuesday.

Nguyen was charged with three counts of attempted criminal homicide and one count of possession of an instrument of crime. Once the boys organs are donated, two of the attempted criminal homicide charges will become homicide charges.
