Three Dead, Including Suspected Gunman, in Oregon Shooting
Three people have died, including a suspected gunman, in a shooting at a Safeway supermarket in Bend, Oregon Sunday evening.
Officers were dispatched to the Safeway supermarket at the Forum Shopping Center shortly after 7 p.m. on reports of shots fired.
According to NBC, the gunman is believed to have used an AR-15 style rifle and began the attack in the parking lot of the store. The suspect then entered the store and shot one person near the west entrance. The victim was transported to a local hospital and pronounced dead.
As the suspect continued into the store, one more person was shot and killed. Upon entering the building, police officers found another individual, believed to be the shooter, dead inside the store. It was not immediately clear how the shooter, only identified as a male, died.
The identities of the victims have not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.
