Brook Lank, 24, of Pittsburgh, was charged with criminal homicide and the abuse of a corpse in the killing of Anthony Lofton, 22, also of Pittsburgh, after he was found shot to death a McKees Rocks alley.

Lofton’s body was found in an alleyway behind a home in the 300 block of Russellwood Avenue Sunday morning. He appeared to have been shot in the head and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Allegheny County medical examiner.

Lofton allegedly threatened Lank with a gun. During a car ride to McKeesport, the pair got into an altercation where Lank took his gun and allegedly shot him once. When she noticed he was still breathing, she shot him two more times according to the Pittsburgh-Post Gazette.

Lank told police that she panicked, threw the gun out of the window, and then proceeded to dump his body in the alley and cleaned the car at her home. She was arrested on Monday evening. According to the criminal complaint Lank added: “I obviously didn’t do a very good job,” of cleaning her car out.

Lank has been charged with criminal homicide and abuse of a corpse. She faces a preliminary hearing next month.
