ABC News reports that no suspects have yet been detained after Sunday’s mass shooting, which occurred at an “unpermitted” sidewalk concert held for Juneteenth, ‘Moechella,’ in Washington, D.C. Among the crowd of hundreds, a 15-year-old boy was killed, and “three adults, including a police officer, were injured” and hospitalized in stable condition.

CNN adds that police had already moved to close down the event due to two altercations that involved “panic and trampling,” wounding several concertgoers’ legs and ankles. ABC News asserts the Metropolitan Police Department confiscated at least one firearm while delivering aid to these stampede victims, but the gun used later in the shooting has not been obtained.

In press statements last night, DC Mayor Muriel Bowser and DC Police Chief Robert Contee both blamed the thickly packed, non-licensed nature of the event for its dangerous consequences, states CNN, with Boswer urging more “accountability.”

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives will be involved in the active investigation alongside the MPD, according to CNN.
