Seven Charged in London Murder Case

22-year-old Abass Ahmed has been charged with the murder of 23-year-old Camilo Palacio, who was found dead with a gunshot wound to the chest on July 24th. BBC News reports that Ahmed will appear in court on Friday.

Three other men and one 16-year-old boy have also received charges associated with the case. 27-year-old Devonte Jackson and the teenage boy were charged with “arson, assisting an offender and perverting the course of justice.” 30-year-old Milan Kaleja and 24-year-old Mohamed Ahmed Ali have been charged for “assisting an offender and perverting the course of justice.” 18-year-old Omar Mohamed and 21-year-old Anas Ali were charged only with “perverting the course of justice.”

The shooting occurred around 9:30PM local time in north London, and responding officers attempted first aid, but the Evening Standard reports Abass Ahmed was pronounced dead at 10:00PM.

All seven of those currently convicted have been connected to the Metropolitan Police Service’s active investigation. According to the Evening Standard, Kaleja was released on bail and Ali remains in custody, while the other suspects’ current situations were not specified.
