Sailor Charged for Murder of Pregnant Girlfriend
Charged with the first-degree murder of his pregnant girlfriend using a firearm, 27-year-old Emmanuel Dewayne Coble faces a bond hearing today. People Magazine states he has not yet entered a plea since his arraignment on Tuesday, and “his attorney could not be reached for comment.” Prosecutors will likely move to charge Coble for the death of the three-month old fetus as well. Coble’s preliminary hearing will occur on December 6th.
WTKR News states that the victim, 20-year-old Raquiah Paulette King, was reported to police on July 21st when her body was found at the intersection of Wins Church Road and Greenwood Road in Hanover County, VA. Investigators believe Coble, a Navy lieutenant assigned to the USS John C. Stennis, likely killed King in her home city of Hampton, VA before moving the body.
According to the Hanover County Sheriff’s Office, Coble was quickly identified as a suspect.
A GoFundMe page posted by Gregory King, Raquiah’s father, requests money for her funeral and allleges that Raquiah was killed for refusing to get an abortion.
