Missing girl Harmony Montgomery was murdered in December 2019, authorities said
New Hampshire girl Harmony Montgomery was last seen in late 2019 when she was five. She was not reported missing until December 2021. It was her mother, Crystal Sorey, who reported her missing. Sorey, who struggled with addiction, lived in a sober house at the time.
Harmony was placed in the custody of her father in 2019 and was known to be living with her father, Adam Montgomery, her stepmother Kayla Montgomery and the couple's two other children. Sorey contacted Manchester Police and told them that Adam Montgomery had been blocking her communication with her daughter although she was sober.
Adam Montgomery told investigators that the last time he saw his daughter was on Thanksgiving when he gave her to her mother.
In an interview with The Daily Beast, Harmony’s uncle reported that the last time he saw harmony, she looked like a “scared puppy” and “didn’t say much.”
According to the police reports, Adam Montgomory had a dark past, known to have shot a man in the head during a drug deal back in 2014. Harmony came under the care of the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families when she was two years old since child welfare workers were worried about Sorey’s substance use disorder.
According to NBC, recently found biological evidence proves that she was murdered in December 2019. The case is now a homicide investigation.
Attorney general of New Hampshire John Formella stated that Harmony’s remains have not yet been located, but recently confirmed biological evidence has led them to the tragic conclusion.
Blair Miller, who had adopted Harmony’s younger brother, Jamison, in 2019, shared his pain with the confirmation of the little girl’s death on twitter. He said, “ We pray that Jamison will grow up feeling the love that has come from so many people in some many communities. We only wish that Harmony got the same chance. When Jamison feels the wind, he often says, ‘Harmony is sending me a hug.’ So whenever you feel the wind, think about Harmony.”
