Teenager Charged With Murder of Mother Who Was Visiting Son's Grave
Seventeen-year-old Christian Lamar Weston was arrested and charged for allegedly killing 52-year-old Yolanda N’Gaoija as she visited her son’s grave on March 22.
Police were dispatched just after 5 p.m. on March 22 to Calvary Baptist Church Garden of Memories Cemetery in Kileen, Texas. Upon their arrival, they found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds.
One of the victims, Yolanda N’Gaoija, died from her injuries later that evening. N’Gaoija was visiting the cemetery to commemorate what would have been her son’s 22nd birthday. The second victim was treated and released at the scene with non-life-threatening injuries.
On Saturday, police arrested 17-year-old Christian Lamar Weston who is being held without bond. Weston was also arraigned on unrelated charges of unlicensed carrying of a weapon. His bond on that charge was set at $5,000. Weston is awaiting transport to the Bell County Jail.
Under Texas law, a 17-year-old can be charged as an adult. The investigation is still active.
