Missing Florida Doctor at Sea Investigation Ended

A well-respected oncologist in Florida, Dr. Chaundre Cross, was declared missing last Wednesday as the search has turned into a search and rescue in the water after his boat was found unmanned. He was last seen on early Tuesday in the Naples marina setting out alone on his boat.

His boat, the 33-foot Sea Ray he titled the “Vitamin Sea” was found abandoned in the Gulf of Mexico between Naples and Sanibel Island according to the New York Post. The 49-year-old Cross was reported missing by his wife, who has refused to comment on his disappearance.

According to NBC2, the Coast Guard began searching for him early after he was reported missing, and after finding his boat it was towed in by the Coast Guard who examined its state and condition. The boat showed no obvious signs of damage.

As of Sunday evening, the Coast Guard has suspended their search for Dr. Cross, expressing their deep sympathies and condolences to the family as the rescue case seemed to close.
