Man Shot and Killed in Random Attack

A 48-year-old man was shot and killed in New York City on Sunday morning while riding the Q train near the Canal Street stop.

The New York Post reports that the shooting was “completely random.”

In a press briefing, NYPD Chief of Department Kenneth Corey stated that witnesses saw that “the suspect was walking back and forth in the same train car and, without provocation, pulled out a gun and fired at the victim at close range as the trains were crossing the Manhattan Bridge.”

The gunman ran out of the station and eluded authorities. The victim’s name has not been released.

This shooting marks the fourth homicide on the Subway in 2022.
