Ten Shot, Thirteen Others Injured In Brooklyn Subway Attack, Suspect Named
Ten people have been shot and a further thirteen injured in a mass shooting on board a subway car in Brooklyn, New York City. Police have identified Frank James, 62, of Philadelphia as a person of interest.
The shooting began at 8:24 a.m. on a Manhattan-bound N-train in Sunset Park. James allegedly set off two smoke bombs, then pulled out a gun and fired 33 shots at passengers before his gun, believed to be a Glock 17, jammed, per CBS.
New York Police Chief James Essig said that they knew he’d rented a U-Haul van. The keys to the van were left at the scene. The U-Haul van was rented from Philadelphia. James has addresses in both Philadelphia and Wisconsin.
The gun was found in the car, along with two additional magazines, a gas can, and ammunition. The manhunt continued into Tuesday evening. Multiple city agencies have come together to offer a $50,000 award to anyone with information leading to James’ arrest according to CNN.
No victims are believed to have died.
