11-Year-Old Bronx Girl Killed by Stray Bullet

Kyhara Tay, 11, was visiting a nail salon in the Foxhurst section of the Bronx on Monday when she was struck by a stray bullet. She was taken to nearby Lincoln Hospital where she died from her injuries.

Police tell NBC New York that Tay was not the intended target. Surveillance video shows a man who police believe was the intended target running from two men on a moped. The man riding on the back of the moped was the shooter.

Tay’s parents, as well as members of the community, gathered today at the crime scene to mourn the child’s death.

NYPD Crime Stoppers is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the suspected killers.
