German Man Arrested After A Severed Head was Left In Front Of A Courthouse
Euronews and the New York Post report that a severed human head was found on Tuesday evening in Bonn, Germany. The head was near the city’s district court, and police found a body a few hundred meters away on the banks of the Rhine river. The victim was reported to be a homeless 44-year-old male.
A 38-year-old man has been arrested by police. The suspect, also believed to be homeless, was found crouching on the steps of a different, nearby, courthouse. Reportedly, he was known to the police from previous interactions relating to drug offenses.
Police responded to calls reporting a man placing a human head on the steps of the Bonn Courthouse at around 5:30pm. One of the eyewitnesses, a man sitting at the bar overlooking the courthouse, was quoted: “At first we thought there was an object there. Only afterwards did we recognize the hair.”
Police have not yet found the murder weapon, but they are using K-9 dogs to locate it. It is currently unclear if the suspect knew the victim, and no motive has been reported.
