Florida Man Attacked With Machete and Robbed

Demetrick Sanders, 45, was taken into custody Saturday and is now being charged with attempted murder and armed robbery with a deadly weapon after robbing and attacking a man with a machete on Jan. 22 in Miami-Dade County.

According to People, around 8:30 a.m. on Jan. 22, the victim was waiting on a ride to work when Sanders approached him demanding money. When the victim refused, Sanders beat him with a broomstick and soon pulled out a machete. He also bit the victim’s face and robbed him, stealing money and a cellphone. The victim was then taken to a hospital to be treated for his injuries.

The victim called police on Jan. 29 when he saw Sanders at a supermarket. According to NBC Miami, Sanders was placed in Miami-Dade Jail on Monday where he is currently being held without bond.
