Charges Filed against Two Suspects in Church Funeral Service Shooting
Two suspects, nineteen-year-old Shawn Davis and a sixteen-year-old, were charged on Friday for a shooting at Destiny of Faith Church in Pittsburgh. The shooting injured six people, as well as a horse. Authorities discovered a gun possibly used in the shooting in the river off McKees Rocks Bridge Sunday morning.
The two suspects were reported to have shot into the church as the funeral proceeded inside, injuring six, according to the New York Post. Both Davis and the minor were charged for the shooting on Friday morning, including a charge of cruelty to an animal for also injuring a horse pulling the casket outside the church. A river rescue team uncovered the firearm used in the shooting on Sunday. The gun had been reported stolen earlier that week, according to Fox News.
The funeral had been held for a man killed in a shooting earlier that month, though there doesn’t appear to be any connection between the incidents, according to Fox News. The suspects’ motive has also not been identified.
