Fourteen Injured and Suspect Arrested in South Carolina Mall Shooting
Twelve people have been injured and three suspects have been named following a shooting in the Columbiana Centre Mall in Columbia, South Carolina on Saturday afternoon.
According to Police Chief William H. “Skip” Holbrook, fourteen people were injured. Nine victims were shot and the remaining five suffered broken bones, lacerations and a head injury while trying to flee.
Three people found with firearms were detained in connection with the shooting. According to Chief Holbrook, “we do not believe this was random.”
One of the suspects, 22-year-old Jewayne Price, was arrested, then released on house arrest with a $25,000 bond, with a stipulation that he wears an ankle monitor. Price will be allowed to go to work.
Authorities said there were no fatalities. The victims range in age from 15-73. Eight victims were taken to the hospital, two in critical condition and six in stable condition.
