Man Arrested in Connection with the Delphi Murders

Indiana State Police Superintendent Doug Carter announced Monday that 50-year-old Richard M. Allen was arrested Wednesday in the murders of Abigail Williams, 13, and Liberty German, 14. Williams and German were killed in February 2017 in Delphi, Indiana. Their murders have been known nationally as the “Delphi Murders.”

On February 13, 2017, Williams and German were walking along Delphi’s Historic Trails and were reported missing after the pair failed to meet German’s father. Their bodies were found the following day near the Monon High Bridge were the girls were dropped off.

Police arrested Richard Allen on Wednesday October 26 and was formally charged with two counts of murder Friday before taking him to the White County Bail. He is being held without bail according to CNN. He is scheduled for a pretrial hearing on January 13, 2023.

This is the first time an arrest has been named in their murders. Police have not revealed how the girls were killed and the probable cause affidavit remains sealed.
