18-Year-Old Killed in Alabama, His Mother Begs For Answers
Police in Prichard, Alabama are investigating the murder of 18-year-old Randon Lee, who was shot and killed Friday evening only a few hours before his 19th birthday.
The shooting occurred at 7:45 p.m. on Friday evening at an Exxon on Saint Stephens Road. According to police, he drove across the street near an Energizer gas station where he died. Saturday would have been Lee’s 19th birthday.
Lee’s mother Ophelia Nichols posted a video on TikTok Saturday morning begging the public for help and answers in his death. Nichols runs an account under the username “@shoelover99” with over 7 million followers and is also known as Mama Tot.
Nichols posted a comment to her video saying police had a lead on two potential suspects. The Prichard Police Department has not named either suspect because they believe it would hinder their investigation.
During a press conference Monday, the Prichard Police Department revealed that Lee was intending to sell marijuana to some people Friday night. The two suspects have criminal records and sold to the suspects in the past.
Authorities say the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information can contact the Prichard Police Department at 251-452-7800 or the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office at 251-574-8633.
