11-Month-Old Girl Shot in Face by a Stray Bullet, Remains in Critical but Stable Condition

An 11-month-old girl was caught in the crossfire of a shooting in the Bronx on Wednesday while sitting in a parked car with her mother, suffering a gunshot wound to the face. She remains in critical but stable condition at Weill-Cornell Medical Center in Manhattan, the New York Times reports.

The incident occurred at 6:45 p.m. near the intersection of Valentine Avenue and East 198th Street. Surveillance footage released by the NYPD shows the gunman sprinting down the street chasing another man, firing off two shots in his direction. One bullet went through the windshield of the car where the infant was sitting with her mother.

Cops say that neither the gunman nor the man he was chasing have been apprehended and are offering a $3,500 reward for any information that leads to an arrest of the suspect.
