In May of 1977, 20-year-old Colleen Stan was abducted while hitchhiking to Northern California to surprise a friend for their birthday. She spent seven long years in captivity, and was subjected to unimaginable torture at the hands of her captor, Cameron Hooker, who kept Colleen locked inside a box underneath the bed where he slept with his wife, in the home they shared with their young children.

Mass Shootings in the United States

This past weekend we saw a slue of mass shootings, most notably the shooting in Buffalo, New York on Saturday. This form of gun violence is the most common in the United States and continues to plague the nation. Many things contribute to the prevalence of mass shootings, among them being loose gun laws and the rise of white supremacy.

Suspect Arrested for Hate Crime Shooting in Dallas

Suspect Arrested and Hate Crime Investigation Opened for Dallas Hair Salon Shooting.

A suspect was arrested early Tuesday morning in connection with the May 11 shooting in Dallas, TX.

Authorities have reported that a man dressed in all black opened fire on a hair salon before driving away in a maroon minivan. The salon, called Hair World Salon, is a Korean-run business. Three women were shot and hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
