Tennessee Man Accused of Murdering His Wife in Fiji Held without Bail

After pleading not guilty to the death of Christe Chen, Bradley Dawson appeared in court on Tuesday and was denied bail. Dawson was accused of murdering Chen on their honeymoon in Fiji, where Chen was discovered with multiple head and body traumas.

On July 9th, Christe Chen was discovered in her room at the Turtle Island Resort in Fiji after suffering a fatal beating and being left in the bathroom, resulting in multiple injuries, according to Daily Mail. Prosecutors also noted Chen suffered from a “brain bleed,” which also wouldn’t have been caused by accident, according to Fox News. He was found with his passport and wallet containing one thousand dollars in cash. By the time Dawson was found and taken into custody, he had been missing for thirty-six hours, according to Daily Mail. Dawson was arrested, and after an unsigned caution interview, Dawson was eventually denied bail.

Due to the severity of her injuries, Christe Chen’s family chose to have her embalmed. Dawson maintains his innocence in the crime.
