Former Missouri Teacher Charged With Sexual Abuse

Zachary Douglas, 29, of Utica, Missouri, has been charged with allegedly sending nude photos and videos to his students and is now facing new charges of sexual abuse of a student.

Douglas is currently jailed without bond pending on an April 7 hearing on 11 felony and misdemeanor counts. The charges have been filed in batches over the past two weeks according to the Associated Press.

Court documents say Douglas, who was a science teacher at Braymer High School, as well as being a football and baseball coach, send lewd images and videos of himself to students from July 2021 through last month.

Douglas allegedly touched a student inappropriately on a bus, although he told investigators she placed his hand on her. He would then try to touch this student inappropriately a week later on another bus ride.

According to an interview with the student, she would be called to his office often so he could inappropriately touch her and make advances towards her. She says she received nude images from Douglas from August to November 2021 from his Snapchat account.

Douglas was charged last Wednesday with four counts of first-degree sexual abuse, two counts of second-degree statutory sodomy, four counts of sexual contact with a student, one count of furnishing pornographic material and one count of first-degree sexual misconduct according to Fox4 in Kansas City.
