3 Charged with the Sexual Assault and Murder of an 18-Year-Old Girl

Amaya Carey, 18, was kidnapped, sexually assaulted and murdered in Jackson, Mississippi and her remains were found Feb. 15.

According to reports by People, the people who have been charged with the crime are Dewitt Anderson, 34, Cedric Banks, 37, and Kaymia Blackmon, 19. Reports say that Carey went to pick up Blackmon, who was also with Anderson, her boyfriend.

All three suspects attempted to have sex with Carey that night. Once Carey refused, she began arguing with Blackmon when Anderson shot Carey. She was then raped and her body was dumped on the side of the road.

The suspects are currently being held without bond, per WLBT.
