Maryland Man Charged With Second Degree Murder of Two-Month-Old Son
On memorial day around 4:45 p.m. the Federalsburg Police Department responded to a medical emergency report at a camper involving a two-month-old infant. The baby suffered from blunt force trauma according to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Delaware after being pronounced dead at the Nemours Children’s Hospital.
The infant’s father, Sean Casey Pierce, 49, has been charged with second-degree murder and other counts related to his son’s death. He was initially taken into custody on Friday, June 3rd on an unrelated outstanding arrest warrant in Pennsylvania.
Not much later, he was charged with connection to his son’s death. Other counts against Pierce included manslaughter and first degree child abuse resulting in death and neglect of a minor.
According to court records, Pierce is being held without bond and is eligible for a public defender during this case.
