Man Drives Tesla Over California Cliff and His Wife Is Claiming It was Intentional

On January 2, Dharmesh Patel drove his wife and two kids off of Devil’s Slide, a cliff in California that’s roughly 250 feet tall. NBC News claims that Patel is now being charged with three counts of attempted murder, two of which include special allegations of domestic violence and intent to cause great bodily injury.

People claims that Patel was released from the hospital and is being moved to a local jail where he is being held without bail.

Patel’s wife also claims that the crash wasn’t an accident, allegedly teeling paramedics “he tried to kill us, he intentionally tried to kill us.”

Authorities are also claiming that based on the severity of the fall, it’s a miracle that everyone made it out alive.

The L.A. Times is also claiming that on top of his wife’s statement, prosecutors secured a video from a tunnel just before the crash that shows Patel making a sharp right turn over the cliff; witnesses who were driving behind the Patel’s even claim that they did not see the car attempt to brake before going over the cliff.
