Jason Ryan Smith has been found after missing for seven days

On May 31, 2022, Jason Ryan Smith was last seen at the Crooked River High Bridge, north of Terrebonne, Oregon, after being dropped off by a ride share Lyft at 11:45 a.m. Smith had been missing for seven days until he was found on June 7, 2022.

Jason Smith’s friend shared through a video on TikTok that Smith had left a note that mentioned he was going home and she assumed Smith was referring to his home in Los Angeles.

Smith suffered from depression and long-term COVID-19 symptoms like severe fatigue and difficulty thinking or concentrating. According to his friend’s social media post, Smith’s symptoms affected every aspect of his life.

Thursday, June 2, marked the beginning of a five-day drone search, glassing search, K-9 search, and foot-grid searches. Authorities, family, friends, and volunteers searched for hours but were unable to find Jason Ray Smith.

On Tuesday, June 7, the family was notified that 36-year-old Jason Ray Smith’s body had been found. No information has been released about where the body was found or the cause of death.

Jason Smith’s sister has been as public as possible during the search for her brother but is now asking for space and privacy.
