Florida Woman Found Dead Next to Car with Sleeping Child Inside

Alana Sims, 22, was found dead next to her car on Jan 30, 2023, shortly after 10 p.m., according to Fox News. Her 23-month-old son was discovered sleeping in the car next to her body. Sims’ son was unharmed and is now in the care of her family. It was also revealed that the victim was five months pregnant. 

According to People, the case remains under investigation by Tampa PD homicide detectives. Investigators said the victim had signs of upper body trauma, but a cause of death has not been released. 

A GoFundMe campaign has been created to help with the costs of Alana’s funeral. She is described as a “devoted mother who has a son who she loved very much,” on the page.
