Florida Man Stabs Wife in Front of Children in Attempted Murder-Suicide

A man stabbed his wife to death on Monday night, then attempted to kill himself by slashing his throat. The act was committed in front of the couple’s three children after they argued about how to discipline the children.

After Oscar Salazar, 31, stabbed Byanca Cruz, 26, the couple’s oldest child ran to the neighbor’s house, and police authorities arrived at the Deltona home around 6:15 pm on Monday night, according to Fox News. Cruz had multiple stab wounds from defending herself, and she had already passed by the time the police arrived. Salazar died from his self-inflicted injuries while at the hospital. None of the children were harmed in the incident.

Salazar had previously been arrested for domestic violence in 2016, and had also been living under another identity, according to Wesh.com. The two youngest children, 5 and 2, had been living with their maternal grandmother at the time.
