eBay is Removing all Jeffrey Dahmer Costume Items
Jeffrey Dahmer murdered and dismembered 17 people between 1978 and 1991. His victims were predominantly black men and boys he sought out in gay bars, malls, and bus stops. He engaged in sex acts with the members and kept their skulls and genitals as souvenirs. He was caught in 1991 and was beaten to death by a prison inmate Christopher Scarver in 1994.
Interest in the serial killer came from the success of Netflix's "Dahmer - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer's Story." According to Netflix's figures, at least 56 million households have watched all ten episodes of the show, making it Netflix's ninth most popular English-language tv show of all time.
The show was loved by millions but traumatized the family members of the victims. The family members of the victims called the Netflix show "harsh and careless." The show and popularity of Dahmer brought out Halloween costume ideas to thousands of people. The mother of one of Dahmer's victims called the costumes "evil."
The popular e-commerce website eBay has banned Jeffrey Dahmer's costumes, declaring that they don't align with eBay's company policy, which prohibits listings "promote or glorify violence or violent acts, or associated with individuals who are notorious for committing violent acts."
