Five Dead in Apparent Northeast Maryland Murder-Suicide
The Cecil County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a murder-suicide which took place last Friday in Elk Mills, Maryland. The victims have been identified as Tara Milligan, 37, Nora Milligan, 11, Finn Milligan, 8, and Teresa Milligan, 4.
Deputies were called to the home at 9:19 a.m. Friday morning to a home on Hebron Court in Elk Mills, Maryland. Elk Mills is 60 miles north of Baltimore and just over the state line with Delaware. Cecil County Sheriff Scott Adams stated during a press conference that a man, believed to be 39-year-old Marcus Milligan, called 911 to report a woman and three children were shot and killed.
Officers arrived on the scene at 9:30 a.m. and first entered a detached garage and found Marcus Milligan deceased with a semi-automatic handgun nearby. His wife, Tara Milligan and their three children were found in various locations in the home. Each died from a single gunshot wound. Police are searching for a possible motive.
The victims have been identified as Tara Devina Ricker Milligan, 37, and their three children, Nora Milligan, 11, Finn Milligan, 8, and Teresa Milligan, 4.
Police had not been called to the home before, per records with the Sheriff’s Office. The Maryland State Police Crime State Technician was called to assist in the ongoing investigation.
