2 Dead in Murder-Suicide at Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office
Two people have died and another person has been injured following a murder-suicide in the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office Tuesday evening.
Police received multiple 911 calls at about 5 p.m. Tuesday evening with reports of an active shooter. A large police presence was spotted at the medical examiner’s office, located at 2355 N. Stemmons Freeway in northwest Dallas.
According to the Dallas Morning News, James “Jed” Frost, 51, entered the building and reportedly shot his estranged wife, Beth Frost, 46, before turning the gun on himself. The pair’s bodies were found on the second floor of the building. A second employee was injured but has not yet been identified.
Deputy County Commissioner John Wiley Price told WFAA that Beth Frost was a deputy medical examiner for Dallas county. The sheriff’s office has not yet determined a motive for the shooting and remains the primary investigative agency.
Much of the investigation surrounds exactly how James Frost was able to enter the building with a gun. Price noted that the medical examiner’s office is “a lot more secure than that.”
