Firefighter Kills Pregnant Girlfriend 2 Days Before Due Date

Matthew Plote, 34, is facing charges of first-degree murder, intentional homicide of an unborn child and more after he killed his girlfriend and set her house on fire in 2020.

After a 14-month investigation, Plote was indicted by a grand jury on said charges, which also include: residential arson, aggravated domestic battery and concealment of a homicidal death, according to Law & Crime.

Plote identifies as a firefighter and an EMT via his Facebook page.

He is currently being held on $10 million bond.
