One Teen Dead, Four Wounded in Knife Attack at Apple River, Wisconsin

An attack that happened around 3:45 p.m. this past Saturday at Apple River in Somerset, Wisconsin left one teen boy dead and four in critical condition. A 52-year-old man stabbed the five victims while tubing along the popular river.

According to St. Croix County Sheriff, Scott Knudson, the suspect was tubing with a group of six to eight people alongside the victims. The motive for this incident is still unclear.

The suspect fled the scene, but thanks to an eyewitness who had taken a picture of the man, police were able to identify and arrest him 90 minutes later.

The four wounded victims remain in varying conditions, ranging from serious to critical.

The undisclosed suspect has been booked into the St. Croix County jail, and may face charges as early as today.
