Texas Woman Arrested in Costa Rica for the Murder of Pro-Cyclist

Kaitlin Armstrong has been arrested by feds in Costa Rica after fleeing the states on May 18th for killing world-class gravel pro-cyclist, Anna Moriah “Mo” Wilson.

Armstrong allegedly shot Wilson on May 11th in her boyfriend’s apartment in Austin, Texas. Wilson had reportedly also dated Armstrong’s boyfriend, Colin Strickland, at one point.

Armstrong’s motive for killing the young cyclist, according to CBS Austin, was because she saw Wilson as a potential threat for Strickland’s attention.

Investigators quickly identified Armstrong as a person of interest after video surveillance footage spotted her vehicle in the area at the time of the murder. After being interviewed by detectives on May 12th, Armstrong went missing. Strickland has admitted he hasn’t heard from her since the 13th.

A couple days later authorities issued a warrant for the arrest of Armstrong, she then fled to San Jose, Costa Rica from the Newark International Airport using a fraudulent passport.

She has recently been captured by US Marshals and will face deportation in the upcoming days. She has been convicted of a single homicide count as well as illegal immigration charges.
