Arizona Parents Allegedly Hid Dead Body of Son After Claiming He Ran Away
Amber-Leah Valentine, 41, and Jon Imes, 41 were among three people arrested after they allegedly told police that their 16-year-old son ran away when they actually discarded and hid his dead body. According to People. Valentine and Imes have been charged with felony abandonment/concealment of a dead body. Richard Pounds, 34, is facing charges of child abuse and aggravated assault in connection with the case.
According to KPHO-TV, the boy’s parents, Valentine and Imes, called deputies on Feb. 25, claiming the 16-year-old ran away from home. Three days later, the boy’s body was found dead, wrapped in a blanket behind a stone wall. Investigators are looking for answers as to how the teenager died.
Fox 5 Vegas reports Valentine called the sheriff’s office on March 2 claiming she had just freed a 14-year-old juvenile, who was being held captive by Valentine's roommates, Pounds, and another person. Both Valentine and the 14-year-old were taken to Kingman Regional Medical Center.
According to the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office, Valentine confessed that she and her husband dumped their son’s body at the location where deputies found his remains. She admitted to lying about their son’s whereabouts.
All three suspects are being held in the Mohave County Adult Detention Facility and more charges are expected to be filed after the final autopsy results are completed
