Mother Sentenced to Five Years in Prison for 2019 Death of So

A woman has been charged with the death of her 21-month-old son that occurred back in 2019, according to US News. Tonya Mae Dale was sentenced to five years in prison for the crime of involuntary manslaughter after she left her son alone to get help when their car got stuck. When she returned to where she dropped of her son, he had wandered off. His body was found on June 26, 2019. Dale admitted to be under the influence of several substances, which included alcohol and methamphetamine. The judge presiding over her case said that, had she not left her son alone, he would likely be alive today.
