19-Year-Old Cashier Shot and Killed During Armed Robbery at a Manhattan Burger King, Suspect Remains Unidentified

The NYPD is asking for help in identifying a suspect that shot and killed 19-year-old Kristal Bayron-Nieves during an armed robbery at a Burger King in East Harlem on Sunday morning.

Investigators say the suspect entered the fast-food chain around 12:45 a.m. and demanded money from the employees while brandishing his weapon. According to NBC New York, the assailant shot Bayron-Nieves and pistol-whipped a manager and customer before fleeing on foot.

A GoFundMe has been set up to help pay for funeral costs for Bayron-Nieves.
