Young mother gunned down in front of daughter may be case of mistaken identity

Young mother Jacqueline Flores, 25, was shot last week in front of her 6-year-old daughter.

Fresno Police in California released a statement saying officers found Flores in her car with a gunshot wound to the head.

At the time of the press release on the 29th, Flores was fighting for her life at CRMC but later succumbed to her injuries.

Flores’s young daughter was in the backseat when her mother was shot. The news release says while she is uninjured, “a bullet did enter the rear window where the child was seated.”

Fresno police believe Flores was not the intended target and the shooting “may have been a case of mistaken identity,” police said in the statement.
