Washington Girl Kidnapped From Mall in 2018 Found Alive in Mexico
Aranza Lopez was kidnapped by her mother, Esmeralda Lopez-Lopez on October 25, 2018, during a court-supervised visit at Vancouver Mall and taken to Mexico, according to People.
In 2019, Lopez-Lopez was arrested in Puebla, Mexico, and extradited back to Washington. Lopez pleaded guilty to second-degree kidnapping, second-degree robbery, and first-degree custodial interference in connection to her daughter's disappearance. She is currently serving a 20-month prison sentence.
KPTV-TV reports, after four years of searching for the young girl, Aranza Lopez has been found alive and safe last month in Michoacán, Mexico, by Mexican authorities. She was taken to an undisclosed location in the U.S. by FBI special agents.
